House Rules

Please treat our home as if it were your own.

Parking: Park only on the paved driveway (not on the dirt road or in the forest area). Please be careful when pulling up as there is a drop-off.

Guests & Visitors: The Treehaus is set up for registered guests only. No parties, events, or big gatherings are allowed.

Pets: We love animals, but the Treehaus is a pet-free home. Please don’t bring pets, of any kind, including service animals, without prior written approval.

Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are between 10pm-8am. Excessive noise is monitored and reported.

Smoking: Smoking or vaping is NEVER allowed inside the house. There are sensors in the house that will alert the host and rental company if any kind of smoke (cigarette, cigar, marijuana, vape, etc.) is detected. Use extreme caution when smoking outdoors.

Fires: Please follow all instructions for using the fireplace and firepit. Since you are surrounded by a national forest, any spark could cause a fire.

Temperature: Each room has a separate thermostat you can adjust for your comfort. The thermostat is limited to avoid extreme settings. Do not touch or tamper with the large AC units on the walls.  If you are having difficulty getting your desired temperature, please call or text 480-206-3848.

Security System: The house is equipped with sensors on all the doors and windows, fire/carbon monoxide sensors in each room, and leak detectors.  In addition, there are multiple outdoor cameras around the property (there are NO cameras inside). This is for your safety and the protection of our home. Do not tamper with any of these devices.

DAMAGE & RESPONSIBILITY
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE, MISSING ITEMS, OR EXTRA CLEANING REQUIRED. BREAKING HOUSE RULES MAY RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE CANCELLATION OF YOUR BOOKING, WITHOUT REFUND, AS WELL AS ADDITIONAL FEES AND PENALTIES.

Check-Out

We hope you’ve had a great stay at the Treehaus!

Before you head out, please take a few minutes to leave our home the way you found it

Check-Out Time: Check-out is 10 AM.

Trash: Bag all trash and place it in the outdoor bin, located at the end of the road.

Kitchen: Please load and start the dishwasher before you leave. Wipe down counters, stove, and any spills. Return dishes, pans, and utensils to their proper place if you’ve used them. Make sure the stove/oven, and coffee machine is off. Remove any food/drinks from the refrigerator.

Sheets & Towels: Leave used towels and bed sheets on the floor near the laundry area. Please don’t start laundry — our team handles that.

Fireplace and Fire Pit: Make sure any fires are completely out — no smoke, no warmth, no embers. Make sure to follow the instructions in this guide for how to properly operate the fire pit and fireplace.

BBQ: Unplug the BBQ, scrape and wipe down the inside, and place the cover back on. If the BBQ is still hot, do not put the cover on.

Furniture: Put any furniture you moved back to its original location and be careful not to scrape the walls or floors.

Final Walkthrough: Double-check for personal belongings, turn off lights, fans, TVs, and electronics, close and lock all windows and doors. If anything needs attention, please let us know.

Thanks again for staying at the Treehaus. We appreciate you taking care of our home and hope you’ll come back soon. Safe Travels!

Fire Pit and Fireplace Rules

You are surrounded by the Coconino National Forest — fire safety isn’t optional.

PLEASE NOTE: GUESTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFE OPERATION OF THE FIRE PIT AND FIREPLACE, ANY MISUSE RESULTING IN DAMAGE, INJURY, OR VIOLATION OF LOCAL ORDINANCES WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF DEPOSIT AND POTENTIAL FINES/FELONY CHARGES.

Please read the detailed instructions provided in the how-to section on how to properly use the fire pit and fireplace.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call or text 480-206-3848

  • Before you start any fire, make sure there are no fire restrictions in place. You can visit: https://www.flagstaff.az.gov/2981/Fire-Restriction-Stages to confirm.
  • Before you light a fire, make sure there is nothing nearby that could catch fire or get damaged.
  • Use only dry, seasoned kindling and firewood. NO CARDBOARD, PAPER, TRASH, PINECONES/PINE NEEDLES, OR TREATED WOOD.
  • NEVER USE LIGHTER FLUID, GASOLINE, OR ACCELERANTS. Only use matches or a lighter to ignite the kindling/firewood.
  • Make sure the firepit base is firmly on the patio pavers and the fire pit is secure (not wobbly). DO NOT MOVE THE FIRE PIT ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE PROPERTY.
  • Wood should NEVER extend above the top of the fire pit. Place the screen cover on top of the fire pit to minimize embers from flying out of the fire pit.
  • NEVER LEAVE THE FIRE PIT OR FIREPLACE UNATTENDED.
  • When you want to put out the fire, stop adding wood at least 30 minutes before you’re done. Let the fire die down naturally.
  • DO NOT USE WATER OR SAND/DIRT TO PUT OUT THE FIRE. This will damage the firepit/fireplace.
  • DO NOT DUMP HOT ASH ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY.  Leave the ash in the firepit and fireplace – our team will take care of it.
  • When the fire pit is cool to the touch, place the black cover back. DO NOT PUT THE COVER ON IF THE FIRE PIT IS STILL HOT/WARM. When in doubt, leave the cover off.
